Description
Silicon barium alloy (Si Ba)is a high quality inoculant. It is an iron alloy with higher activity. Silicon barium Inoculants apply to grey cast iron , nodular cast iron, ductile casting iron and vermicular casting iron. The Ba, Ca etc. chemical elements in it is stable. Compared with graphitization ability of ferro silicon, it can improve the different thickness of the section structure and hardness uniformity as well as increase the number of eutectic group and recession speed is slow. Increasing the same quantity, barium silicon inoculation can improve tensile strength higher 20-30N/mm2 than ferro silicon. Compare to ferro silicon, when additive amount changes, the casting hardness range is small. After the Spheroidizing treatment of molten iron adds barium silicon which can not only increase the number of graphite ball and improve the roundness but also eliminate cementite and scatter or reduce phosphorus eutectic.
Application:
1. For oxidation and modification of steel, cast iron and alloys.
2. Possesses dephosphorizing action.
3. Reduce the whiteness of cast iron
4. Improving the stability of calcium in molten steel, reducing the volatilization of calcium.
